What does your day look like?
You may be working from home.
You may be a Caregiver, aiming to support children with Schooling at home, as well as working there too.
Maybe you are in a bubble with family members who need support with care.
It can be easy to neglect our own needs.
Here is a Hand Reflexology tip to support you to relax.
Find somewhere that you can get comfortable.
Choose a palm of one hand. Support the underside of that hand with your fingers.
Place the thumb of the other hand over the centre point of your palm.
This is your Solar Plexus Point.
Close your eyes. Take three, long, slow, deep breaths.
Press firmly with your thumb, rotate it slowly, in a clockwise movement, whilst breathing in slowly for the count of three, then breathe out slowly for a count of 5.
Repeat three times.
You may find this point is tender. Our Solar Plexus is the seat of our emotions, and when stress is held in the body, it can mean that many of us shallow breath.
Repeat with the other hand, three times.
You can repeat this simple exercise as and when you need to during the day.
Devoting just five minutes of your day to do this will support you to take in quality breath, leading to better oxygen intake & calming of your nervous system.
This point is excellent to work if you feel overwhelmed, tense, or are feeling a bit off balance, emotionally. It is a great point to do with children if they need that contact, yet a hug is too much for them at that time.
You can show them how to carry it out themselves, or support them with it.
